Growing up in South Texas, Michael MacFarlane was surrounded by country music, honky-tonks, and the unmistakable sounds of Texas country from an early age. Those early years shaped his love for traditional country music and the stories, characters, and experiences that make the genre so special.

After spending much of his 20s playing music, Michael stepped away from performing to focus on what mattered most—raising his family. Although the guitar was set aside for a time, his love for country music never left.

Now, with his family raised and his guitar back in hand, Michael has returned to the stage with a renewed appreciation for the music that has been part of his life since childhood. He performs as the "Cowboy" frontman of Cowboy and the Rockers, and as a solo country artist.

Rooted in the traditions of South Texas country music, Michael's performances and songwriting are a reflection of his journey—from growing up around honky-tonks and country music, to stepping away to raise a family, and ultimately finding his way back to the stage. His music is about good songs, honest stories, and keeping the spirit of traditional country music alive.
